The Challenge

Bird watchers needed a modern, mobile-first way to log and share their sightings. Existing solutions were outdated, desktop-focused, and lacked community features. We set out to build an app that made bird watching more accessible and social.

The Solution

We built Limosa as a cross-platform Flutter app backed by a Python/Django API with PostGIS for geospatial queries. Users can report sightings with location data, browse nearby observations, identify species, and follow other birders.
